Clarity's den

Clarity and her kits don't sleep curled up in a cave. Instead they sleep under the open skies. They live on the banks of a pool that looks like this: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8003/7529229812_4c24cc99ff_o.jpg

PtarmiganStar strolls along, scenting a rouge, his ears perk.

Clarity had gone hunting. So far, she had caught a mouse, a squirrel and a shrew. She was going to catch one more so she sniffe the air. She scented another cat but the cat smelled....peculiar. She sooned figured out it was a clan cat and (with her fresh kill being carried in her mouth) ran back to the pool. She carefully gathered her sleeping kits and took them all down to the emergency burrow where a family of foxes had once lived. The scent of the foxes should shake the clan cat off the trail. The last time she was face to face with a clan cat she was attacked and the rouge didn't want that to happen again.

The leader scents the air once more, a revolting, musky scent filling his muzzle. BADGER! The tom stands his ground, eyes bright as they survey the area.

Clarity took a deep breath and poked her head out of the burrow. She squinted her eyes and saw a very far away silhouette of a clan cat. She gasped and put her head back in the burrow. She closed her eyes and thought back to the last time she met a clan cat. In that time, Clarity wasn't wary of clan cats. Then she saw a clan cat and naively went to saw hello. After all, the first time she had met a clan cat, she had found her mate. This clan cat must have saw her as a threat because he/she attacked her. Although after a while they must have realized she was a decent fighter because he/she stopped and stood at a distance. Then they heard the cry of an eagle and looked up. The clan cat hid and clarity tried bringing her kits to safety but it was too late. The eagle dived down and carried her youngest kit Snow away. Forever. 6 or 7 moons later, her mate died. That was the last time she trusted a clan cat.

The bulky badger stumbles out of the woods, scenting young kits the creatures eyes gleam with a devious glint as it plods over to the emergency burrow.

Badger! Dun dun dunnnnn.

Clarity scent a badger extremely close. Terrified, Clarity dropped her fresh kill and picked up the kits onto her back. Knowing there was another exit, she ran deeper into the burrow until she saw the other exit. Looking back she saw badger was starting to catch up. She sprinted out of the other exit and ran as fast she could until she ran into the clan cat.

The tom topples over, leaping to his paws in a moment, he growls, facing the rouge, almost looking as if he was about to attack her and lunges towards her, yet he leaps over her, and rakes his claws down the badgers striped muzzle.

Clarity, figuring she should help the clan cat, put down her kits on the ground carefully. She then lunged toward the badger and scratches its back. She then batted its muzzle away before it could bite her.

The clan leader bites down on the badgers throat, dragging it to the ground. Blood trickles from the badgers throat as it lets out a noise that could pass as a gurgle/choke and races off into the forest from where it came.

Clarity stood as the badger ran away. She then looked at the clan cat. "Who are you clan cat?" She asked. "And why are you here?" She looked at her kits and sighed in relief. They were okay.

The tom smiles slightly, "My name is PtarmiganStar, and I came for a strolls."
